The unidirectional lug‐design knife gate valves of the A-LUG series are made of a monobloc cast body with interior slides for optimum movement of the through conduit during operation and seal wedges.
The unidirectional lug‐design knife gate valves of the A-LUG series provide high flow rates with low pressure drop. Various seal and packing materials are available. An arrow is marked on the body indicating the flow direction.
This unidirectional lug‐design knife gate valve of the A-LUG series is suitable for liquids that contain a maximum of 5% suspended solids. If used for solids, we recommend installing with the body are which indicates the contrary flow direction.

The mentioned working pressures are just valid for the pressures applied on the direction of the arrow market on the body. As the valves is designed with gate support guides, the valves are able to support a 30% of these pressures from the opposite direction without any damage on them. In these cases, the valves are not a 100% water tight. To obtain a total water tightness in these conditions, it is necessary to incorporate additional supports.
