Rubber and Stainless Steel expansion joints

Category

Description

The rubber joints are flexible joints in which the elastic part is constituted by a rubber compound, based on synthetic elastomers with additions of particular components and which has been subjected to vulcanization. The vulcanization process, the choice of the type of elastomer and other components of the mixture are fundamental steps to achieve the final characteristics of the article. The chosen components guarantee certain effects on the final characteristics of the resulting compound: protective, antioxidant, antiozonant, anti-aging, filler, etc. A finished product is a rubber joint with high elastic properties, mechanical and chemical.

The stainless steel expansion joints are mounted on pipes where it is necessary to absorb thermal expansion or vibration.

The stainless steel bellows is formed cold hydraulically so as not to alter the initial structure and the strength of the material.

The use of several, differently thick walls determines the main characteristics of the product: the axial stiffness and the maximum operating pressure.

Depending on the type of dilation that they can absorb, the compensators are classified as:

  • axial
  • universal
  • angular
  • spherical angular
  • side
  • spherical lateral
  • axial thrust
  • push universal
