The turbine flowmeter calculates the flow rate of the fluid in relation to its speed: thanks to the thrust of the fluid, the rotation speed is linear to the flow. The coil is equipped with a permanent magnet and, once the passage of the blade is detected, the pick-up sends a pulse. The volume of the poured fluid is indicated by the total of the pulses. Their frequency also indicates the flow rate: Q = K * nmt
Q = volumetric flow rate
K = Constant of Proportionality of each turbine (k-factor)
Nmt = number of turns
The K constant, indicated on the meter body and on the calibration certificates, is calculated through the calibration of the flowmeter.
