Description

The PR 23 KPATENTS series represents the top of quality and reliability in the field of the analysis of the concentration in the liquid phase using a refractometer, thanks to some features such as the absence of moving parts, the traceability of the laboratory standards, the lack of drift due to digital measurement, the variety of solutions for all kinds of process or OEM.

The refractometric measurement system is based on the phenomenon of refraction and is able to generate numerous advantages since, for example, there is no interference generated by the color of the process or by the possible presence of particulate matter and bubbles.

The digital platform PR-23 is provided with a series of standard features, and it is possible to customize the sensor in contact with the process.

The basic version PR-23-A provides:

  • Range Refractive index nd = 1.3100 – 1.5400, equivalent to 0-100 Brix
  • Accuracy nd ± 0.0002 equal to ± 0.1% by weight
  • Digital Measurement via CCD 3648 pixels
  • Light Emitting Diode to 589 mm LED of Sodiod wavelength for a rapid comparison with the standard in the literature
  • Digital calibration at the factory with certified liquid Cargille on the whole range nd = 1.3100 – 1.5400
  • Patent CORE® Optics (US P / N 6,067,151 US): The optical is separated from the sensor electronics
  • Integrated Pt 1000 for compensation of non-linear conversion nd -> Brix
  • Process connections 3A-Clamp Varivent®, custom flow cell …
  • Wetted parts in AISI 316L, Spinel (prism), PTFE (prism seals)

The PR-33-AC OEM series is intended for the market of manufacturers of machines, skid and compact systems for food and beverage. It is made of stand-alone sensors that do not require remote electronics and are equipped with connections to the 3A-Clamp, Varivent® process and custom flow cell.

The PR-23-AC PHARMA series presents the same technical features of the A series, but conforms to PAT, GMP, CIP / SIP, and 21 CFR Part 11 and Validations of pharmaceutical production protocols.

The PR-23-W / M series presents the same technical features of the A series, but is also equipped with a sensor suitable for strong acids and bases, as well as the possibility of extending the range nd = 1.2600 – 1.5000, 0-100 Brix.

The W Series is equipped with optics inserted into the valve body Saunders DN 2″, 3″, 4 ” lined with PFA Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene, wetted parts of the sensor in PTFE, prism in Spinel or sapphire, prism seals in PTFE, while the M Series is equipped with optics inserted into a solid block in PTFE or Kynar®, prism in Spinel, O-rings in Kalrez, prism seals in Teflon®.

The Pr-23-GP series has the same technical characteristics of the AC series, but is equipped with heavy duty sensor type  Sandvik® Clamp or flanged ANSI / DIN / JIS and it is suitable for process conditions up to 25 barg and 150° C.

The PR-23-RP series is addressed to the Oil & Gas market and is equipped with a one-piece sensor without any kind of welding and with connection to the process through flanging ANSI Rating # 300 for Design Pressures of up to 25 barg.

The PR-23-MS SEMICONDUCTOR series is designed for the semiconductors market for process applications. It presents the following characteristics:

  • Expanded Range nd = 1.2600 – 1.5000 with sapphire prism H74 for analyzing hydrofluoric acid
  • Wetted parts and prism seals in modified PTFE, prism in Sapphire H73 or H74, O-rings in Kalrez, sensor body in stainless steel with epoxy paint coating
  • Flow cell integrated into the sensor to avoid contamination
  • Connections: Flare Fitting or Nippon Pillar Super 300 for DN ¼ “, ½”, ¾ “, 1”
  • Installation both horizontal and vertical
  • ATEX IECEx version available

The PR-33-S SEMICONDUCTORS series presents the same technical characteristics of the AC Series but is designed for the market of manufacturers of machines, skid and compact systems for clean rooms. It has the following characteristics:

  • Stand-alone sensor with no remote electronics
  • Expanded range nd  = 1.2600 – 1.5000, with prism H74 Sapphire for hydrofluoric acid analysis
  • Wetted parts and prism seals in modified PTFE, prism in Sapphire H73 (or H74), O-ring in Kalrez, sensor body in Ultra-pure Kynar® PVDF
  • Flow cell integrated into the sensor to avoid contamination
  • Process connections: Flare Fitting or Nippon Pilla Super 300 for DN ¼ “, ½”, ¾ “, 1”
  • Output 4-20 mA via Ethernet 10/100
  • JAVA Software © incorporated into the electronics of the sensor for viewing and managing through the analyzer corporate LAN, even from remote locations
